They Are Really Bonding Now
At page 90 of The Catalogue, you'll find a picture of the Wahl-Eversharp made pencils marked "Gold Bond," which was Montgomery Ward's store brand of pens and pencils. Since the book was published, a couple other examples have found their way to me . . .

I have found this set of GOLD BOND Starlite matching mechanichal pencil and fountain pen set that are in a gold and black marble. They have matching gold rings at the top for hanging as if for a chain or necklace, and gold bands. (real gold? ) I have no idea of their age, they are an estate items. They measure approx 4.5" without the rings. The pen has a lever for the ink, and the nib looks a little dirty, but the pencil works great and has lead. I cannot find anything like them. AQny advice?

Thanks for writing. Check out my mechanical pencil museum at www.jonathanveley.com and look at the second picture in the "Gold Bond" display. I think that ringtop you have probably matches that one.
The trim is gold filled, not gold, so please don't scrap anything off of it. In nice condition, a set like yours is worth more as a collectible than for the metal that's in it.
Oh, I forgot. . . it's probably "Stonite," not Starlite.
